Xfxforce nvidia 9800 gtx+ max temp

Using occt to stress test my gpu I was getting upto 66 degrees on my gpu. I quit the test to avoid overheating.

What would be considered a safe max temp to stress to?

Is it worth using rivatuner to change my fan speed to reduce those temps?

That's totally fine.

For things like stress testing high 80's is when I'd start to be concerned.
