Does anyone have this monitor? Im surprised I've not heard much about it....
I would appreciate any feedback any owners/ex owners may have. Most notably can it operate Gsync as it is a Freesync monitor I believe.

Not 100% sure but it is FreeSync 2 and I have never seen any of them official advertise G-Sync Compatible, even the FreeSync ones that also do not advertise it can run G-Sync by ticking 1 extra box.

The ones that have been tested and Certed by Nvidia will advertise so.

I am not even sure it can run it, you would need someone who has a FreeSync 2 (Premium?) monitor to confirm they ticked that extra box and run it in G-Sync Comp.

Hmm I see....

More and more I read up about this monitor... the more its not looking positive.

Ive got a 35" 3440 x 1440 120Hz. Was just looking to get a super widescreen without sacrificing too much performance.

I wouldn't want to go from a 1440 pixel height monitor to only a 1200 pixel height one

I think I could handle the reduction in vertical pixels but I'd worry that a lot of games may not work at 1200 pixels as it's a very uncommon height. Equally, I suspect a lot of titles won't support a 32:9 resolution or will look distorted.

I reckon it'd be good for productivity though as that size/horizontal resolution means you can comfortably run 3 apps side by side.

Overall I think I'd stick with a 34-38" 21:9 ultrawide if it were me.

1200 used to be a very common height as that what 24 inch 16:10 monitors were (1920 x 1200 ;))

I used 1920 x 1200 24" monitors for gaming from around the year 2006 to 2012

I was looking to get a VA panel at 21:9, but the ones available have the dreaded fans (like latest 200Hz 35" from AOC, Asus, Acer, etc).
So I thought this could be a compromise....

I also had 3 x Asus 1920 x 1200 monitors back in the day, so they were ok for me, but I think its the same, when I went from 1080 to 1200 and asking myself to go back to 1080. It would be similar by going back from 1440 to 1200 (even more so due to losing 240 lines as opposed to 120).

Ah sweet!
So no fan noise at all?
I remember considering getting one of these.. but damn... £2400....

Do you ever hit near 200hz on refresh rate for games?

I have only heard the fan spin up a few times

I normally leave it set to 144hz 10bit (You need to set to 8 bit for 200hz)

I just seen this person review that looks well worth a read (I haven't finished reading it all myself yet )
Consumer review of the ASUS PG35VQ, paid with my very own wallet - Comparing it to TN/IPS/OLED/UW & ofc. ASUS PG27UQ : ultrawidemasterrace (reddit.com)

.

Didn't realise those monitors had active cooling

That'd be seriously annoying. Never seen that in a monitor before? Why do they need it?

Ah thanks bud....

I would go with this, but for nearly 2.4k its way too much... lets see what comes out later.

I believe its the Gsync Ultimate module, needs active cooling.
