xi-fi to Xonar

Hi all,

I have finally had enough with my xifi xtreme music. I upgraded all drivers, all patches, SP, Bios and when i game i get absolute useless sound quality. Inc it going silent, where the only way to get the sound back is to go to ctrl panel and set the drivers back to 5:1 as it seems to like changing itself to 2:1.

I am looking at the Asustek 7.1 Channel Audio Card with PCIE Interface, but on the site it does not say if its the D2X version. (Competitor site so cannot post link).

All it has is

That might be the light version. There's a tiny non-shielded version out there too. How much is it?

its €172.40 inc vat in the picture it has a heat sheild and looks quite large

The original and the newer D2X (PCI-e) are the same card - just different connectors that slot into your motherboard. Atm, just get the one which enables you to use whichever slot you have free in your board.

I have the Abit in9 32x mobo so i have loads of either slot.
