Hi,

I'm putting together a system for my little brother and he's being a bit of a pain really, he wants pretty much everything inside the system to be black and use blue leds. I've got all the other components, but then he saw this hsf and thought it looked "cool". Thing is, its going onto a micro atx motherboard with ballistix tactical tracer ram in it and I reckon from its size it will block at least one of the ram slots so the ram would be less visible.

Has anyone any idea whether this will be okay, or any ideas to another hsf that will fit with his ideas and be better for the job?

Any help appreciated :)

what case is it going into? have you checked it supports its dimentions first?

Also i have this fan and i have mine currently facing the top of the case blowing air out. this does block 1 ram slot and if i didnt have low profile ram it would stop it from going in. however the fan can be turned to face the back of the case blowing air out the top back exhaust which would block no slots but would see it close to the top edge of the case.

so depending on what case its going into and which way the fan is facing you can get all 4 ram slots free.

Could probably use the fan pointing towards the rear of the case if I think about it, that should remove an issue. I may use a different case if anyone can recommend one that would fit the needs ( Kinda cool looking with a black interior and a window so he can show his mates how "cool" it looks.

Must admit I looked at the bitfenix cases but hadn't noticed that one. I originally planned on using the survivor, but theres no windowed option, I just happened to have the xigmatech case lying around tbh, can always use that for something else though

You can buy a side window or get one made. Google it, *they* are well priced!

It should fit in the case I originally mentioned tbh, so the case shouldn't be an issue ( height of hsf is 30cm less than width of case).

Its more the blocking of the lights from the ram,
