Hi guys,

Can someone please give me this measurement:

And also, do these HDD bays come out?

Thanks :)

I don't own one but I'll have a stab at answering.

The HDD bays come out. You can see that in the reviews.

The measurement you're after should be the same as a standard drive bay which is 146mm.

Ok thanks.

If you wouldn't mind could you just check two things for me please?

First, can these holes be used to mount a radiator/fan?

And secondly, the fans in the front: what are they attached to and is it possible to add another one above them?

Thank you :)

They look like 5.25" drive bays with HDD cages slotted in? so the width without the HDD cage (the Red arrow) is 5.25"?

They may be called 5.25" drive bays but they're larger than that.

5.25" refers to the width of the old floppy disks used in drives which fitted into the bays.

The main body of a DVD drive is around 146mm, or just shy of 5.75", wide.

I know that you can put a 240 rad in between but you cant use the locks on the rad as you can with a 5.25" drive bay since the 240 rad is to small.
I think xigmatek is trying to come up with something that will make that possible in the future, don't know how long that will take though.

Edit: The measurement is 15cm, but better say 14,7 since the holes for locking a drivebay are on a "bump". And then there is also these "shelfs" for the drive bays, they stand out about 4mm on each side.

Can you not just screw one in like you normally would on a designated fan area?

Sorry, but I don't know if I understand you correctly...

But if you mean putting it in sideways, the measurement for the holes on the rad are not close enough together for you to use screws on both sides.

Will try and upload a picture on how I did it.

Ok thanks.

they are attached to the drive cages, I have managed to add another above by using the drive cage from my old antec 900.

This is what I want to do:

But obviously remove the HDD cage.

(That's a 360mm radiator by the way, but my skills with Photoshop have left it distorted)

This is how I did it. I know it looks like s***. But it was a fast fix for the problem at hand.
And as for mounting the rad sideways, the holes on the rad are not close enough together on a 240 rad to have it like that, so my guess is that a 360 will be no better.
But I think you can have it like that but with screws only on one side.

That doesn't look very good for air flow through the radiator.

Your scaling is off as well. A 360 rad is probably longer than both the HDD cages together.

easyest way to mount a 360 in the front from looking at mine would be to mount some brackets to the drive bays so that it would hold the rad pulling air in from the front
