I've been reading up recently about WC and i'm looking in to possibly building a custom loop.
I would be cooling a single gpu and cpu but from the advice/reviews etc i've been seeing it seems like a single 360 rad would probably not be enough.

For that reason I was thinking about possibly making a loop to include a 360 and a 240 too. After looking through cases and reviews again the elysium seems to be the best option for price. I'm looking to keep the cost under £150 preferably but if there's something out there that would be ideal then I could stretch...

My question is this: would it be possible to get a 360 in the top of the Elysium along with a 240 mounted up front? I still need at least 3 HDD brackets available and i'm not desperately keen on modding as my power tool skills are somewhat lacking.

Fantastic news, that's just what I wanted to hear :D

A few questions for you cobbly:
What's the cable management like on the PSU?
How do you have the fans set up on the rads?
Any chance of some pics of the setup?

am on my phone at mo, will up some pics about 10.30. cable management is easy, fans are blowing over both rads, 2 front fans, back and side are intake, 3 on top rad & 2 on bottom are exhausts

Thanks a lot for the pictures cobbly, that case certainly does make the rad look puny :p. Out of curiosity, how have you got the rad mounted to the bottom of the case, is it just screwed in or loose?

Also, I had a look at the switch and it appears to only be able to fit a single 120 rad in the bottom. Maybe I missed something but the gallery here doesnt seem to show anything more than a 120 on the floor and a 480 on the top?

I've seen both cases.

The Elysium is far better than the Switch for water cooling. The Switch uses plastic panels, has a flimsy chasis and doesn't have enough room to fit a 140.3 rad properly. In fact it has exactly 460mm (then cables block the remaining space) in the roof which isn't enough for many 140.3 radiators.

The Elysium can fit any 140.3 with a small mod in the roof, any 140.3 in the front and possibly a 240mm in the bottom. Also it's solidly built and won't fall apart.

Ok so after reading the bit-tech review of the Elysium it definitely wins. Steel vs plastic... hmm :p. Odd considering the Elysium is a fair chunk cheaper than the 810 too.

Thanks a lot for the help folks, now I just need to get the money together... I went over budget about 3 minutes in to this build :'(.

what "mod"? u can mount anything into anything with a "mod"

im sure i can fit a 140.3 into the 810 with a mod.

the elysium isnt worth the money.

above all the 810 has a FULL window, not a window with a 140 fan in the middle blocking all ur hard earnd cash. lets face it watercooling is all about showing off what uv got.

The Switch won't fit a 480mm 140.3 radiator. It won't physically fit without removing the black cables and even then you still need to remove either the rear fan or welded plate to fit the barbs.

Water cooling is for silence and performance.

Not everyone wants a window that lets out light from LEDs on components which I find distracting. I had some white LED fans on the roof before and the light kept me awake.
 
Xigmatek Elysium is a good case, plenty of room in the front for all your watercooling needs, ive got a 360 on the roof a 240 on the front, a 120 on the floor, aquaero 5 lt with flow meter, 2 ssds 1 hdd but it lacks 1 major thing, cable management space at the rear, to get my side panel on ive got to squeeze the cables or just leave the panel off. other issues with the xigmatek is poor build quality in that the 2 of the wheels have broken, the clear plexi side panel vibrates due to poor fixtures. For the price there asking alittle more time and consideration could have gone into the build :)
 
The Elysium is just big, nothing more, on the other hand, the switch can fit a 360mm rad and a 240mm rad (remove the bottom hard drive bay) and is miles better looking, and stronger than the elysium, don't know where the switch being flimsy came from
 
I can't say anything for the 'flimsy' comments for the switch, but after reading a lot of reviews on both the Elysium seems to come out ahead the majority of times. The plastic etc of the switch are really turning me off, especially after having experience with a nearly full plastic case in the past (never again). I'm sure the build quality is better, but considering the Elysium is cheaper and I have actually seen videos/pictures of the exact rad setup I want inside it I think that's what I will go for.
 
Personally I feel that the build quality of the Elysium is solid, nicely put together, firm, nothing loose or anything vibrating, no problems with either of the side panels and I've got the windowed version. Have it up on it's wheels and no issues with them either. Nice price for the case too.
