I've tested one extensively myself, and are pretty surprised with the stability and quality of the unit. I believe TechPowerUp will have a review going live in the next few days that is pretty positive too. The Maverick series have been made especially for the EU market, hence the 230V EU certification, meaning that the efficiency is better than the 115/230V units also.

Would you happily recommend that someone could run a 290x of the 600w one?

Specs state 45.0A on the 12v single rail, which should be fine, but IDK if it would actually make that?

No, I'd recommend you bought SuperFlower or Seasonic, however for someone on a tight budget with a mid range gaming system it's well suited.

Just to make it clear, these are not aimed at anyone building a decent gaming rig, rather someone who wants to build an entry - mid level system with a PSU that is no nonsense and provides the wattage expected of it. I always say you should never skimp on the power supply quality, but better buying this solid Xigmatek unit than another cheaper uprated pile of chinese junk that is prevalent in the market.

Dunno, I cant see a reason why you wouldn't spend £2 more on the 450w superflower model.

I mean, sure its got 150 more watts. But what use are the extra Xigmatek watts if you they cant be recommended for builds where you actually need that extra power?

I guess you gotta offer a cheaper high watt PSU for the unwashed masses though, else they will just buy one from elsewhere.

EDIT - Your previous post pretty much answers this.

Exactly, it also offers a semi modular unit in a price bracket where there aren't many modular units.

Decent to me is 970/290 and above. The 600w would be ok for those but personally I'd go SuperFlower, Seasonic, EVGA, BeQuiet etc at that level.

Yeah, I'd call 74% pretty positive at a pricepoint where most PSU's are junk for the wattage they offer. As I've stated many times already, I wouldn't personally use one, or recommend them for gaming systems, but for a cheaper build they will do a job better than a lot of equivalently priced China specials.

That is the second review that mentions only 6pin PCIE connectors... OCUK might want to amend the specs to save themselfes some returns / unhappy customers..

Why would we amend our specs to make them incorrect? The units we sell come with 6+2 PCI-E. I checked them myself. These units are better than the Maverick S units that have been reviewed, they conform to higher efficiencies.

I was told it was the Maverick units that had been reviewed, as opposed to the Maverick S. Either way, if the units we provide offer better efficiencies, I would inspect the internals to be improved as a result.
