Xim3 - anything for ps3?

But what can they do? As someone has previously stated the xbox just thinks it's another pad (if this is wrong please correct me!). The company isn't trying to sell it as an official product so MS can't ban it's sale as they aren't doing anything illegal. :(

You're right the XBOX only sees the pad.

The Xim3/2 is completely different. It actually works.

And OP beta testers for the XIM3 have said the cross battle adaptor works fine with cod for the xim3. This board generally thinks they are cheating a lot of boards dont. I personally wouldn't use one as I feel they are unfair. but there's the info. Most of the ex-pc players on my friends list are desperate to get hold of a XIM3 when they come out. And as they are going to be "retail" I'd imagine it will be a lot more popular then the xim2.

and thus the proof that XIM is for noobs

even with a keyboard and mouse he still cant hit **** for the first minute.

He gets a couple of quick scope kills which is nothing impressive. I've seen the same with a pad.

Funny thing is that he doesnt even win the game, he comes second lol

what a tard !

Why not? if MS Decide they dont want it used on their console, then theres nothing the developers can do about it.

Unfortunately it is illegal

MS has a lock down on all third party peripherals

http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/8962/Xbox-360-Only-Authorized-Third-Party-Accessories/

If they don't give you the keys to the xbox encryption system, you have to hack them.

And thus we have our crime - illegally bypassing microsofts security system in the xbox. Fine to do it in your bedroom as you can't really be touched, but selling products that do it on the mass market ? you're in for a whole world of hurt

Hence why the XIM has to be sold through stores that go under the MS radar in limited numbers.

I dont know if you mean go after the company and ban sale. But they are undetectable. The xbox just sees the official controller plugged in.

There is no way the device will ever go on sale in retail outlets, it's designed for Microsoft's console, uses a modified piece of their hardware and isn't licensed. Their lawyers would have the door shut on that one in seconds.

I'm also surprised their online operation is still going, I would imagine this is down to differences in law though, as in the UK they could probably have stopped them trading.

I personally would be surprised if usage of them is quite as rife as some people are making out. It's an expensive device and it's surely really only kiddies who want to cheat to be the best and it puts it out of reach for them unless the bank of Mum & Dad fund it.

the website will be hosted in russia or similar where MS can't touch it.

Datel (makers of the turbofire pads) are trying to sue MS over this. MS initially sued them over a patent infringement because their pads looked too much like the MS one.

Datel modified their pads so they looked less like them.

The anti trust lawsuit over the locking out of 3rd party memory cards is still ongoing

Yeah I was just saying the XBOX sees a pad. I hope xbox can put a stop to this but I doubt they will. As you said even though its hoping to be "more retail" its still going to be small distributors online.

Time from order to delivery of XIM-2 is about ~ 4 working days at the moment, and they'r shipping hundreds every day.
According to one of the before mentioned owners.

Interesting info there. The dev seems like a intelligent guy so I guess he knows where he stands. I did see him saying he's hoping for around atleast 100,000 unit sold which I guess is still small fry?

XIM3 is rubbish. I have one for the PS3 and it has major mouse lag. I would give it the time or day. Its gone on the bay biggest waste of money. Forum with people saying its perfect and that they were pc verterans. I dont think so lol.

XIM 3 user, love it.

also ex pc fps gamer...

my money my choice :)

and to add fuel to the fire..

"As I understand, you're checking if using a 3rd party keyboard and mouse adapter on the console's going to be a violation to the terms of use.

The answer to the said inquiry would be, "no". You can feel free using the mentioned external accessories. However, we are unable to guarantee its efficiency with the console. We would highly recommend you to continue using the certified Xbox 360 accessory to optimize your gaming experience.

I hope I was able to help you on your concern today."
