Aye, i should think they will do to, but tbh, if microsoft dont want it, videos and threads about it have been around for a very long time, they have not blinked a eyelid, even with major searching i cannot find anything, all i can find is threads discussing it, even on the microsoft forum, no ones saying its ilegal and cheating, there just discussing wether it should be allowed or not, most people dont care.

its designed to be undetectable, microsoft cannot do anything about it, even if they wanted to, so they dont say anything on the matter so not to look incompetent, if they could detect it, you can bet they would have made a statement and banned it.

is the above so hard to comprehend? microsoft are at the user's mercy.

as far as the console is concerned your using a controller, it doesnt even know that your using a mouse / keyboard.

fair play to the guy who made it, he is excellent at backwards engineering and modding.

but he is a **** for selling them on. and the people who use them are also *****.

To not look incompetent, using Preloaded acounts, no one has been banned for using them, and yet they say its bannable and ilegal, but yet no ones ever been banned for using them, now they look incompetent?, if microsoft came out and said its bannable and ilegal, im sure allot of people would think twice, wether they can detect it or not and wether to buy one or not, so thats not the point, the point is, making people aware its bannable and a offense, which they have not done so.

There are a couple of points missing here:

Xbox 360/PS3 - around £200
PC good enough to run BF3 etc properly - around £750 to well over £3k

Plus, you need to constantly upgrade the damn PC as new games come out, video cards etc need replacing, at over £200 a go!

I have a high end PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii etc etc. I love them all and play all my FPS on PC, becuase of the keyboard and mouse control.

BUT...

I prefer the easy access and lower overall costs of the consoles. So if there is a way to use my preferred control method on a console, I will take it. This saves me money as I dont have to keep lining Nvidia's pockets each time a new card is released and my new game runs at a slideshow.

I really think the console market is missing out on stealing a lot of PC users. There are many thousands of PC gamers that would jump to a console given alternative control options. If Microsoft/Sony etc were to bring out a keyboard and mouse control system, they could police it and only allow it on certain servers. This would help with the game levelling.

I agree its easier to play with a keyboard and mouse, this is why I want to use it, but I also understand the unfairness it may create. I just feel rather than flaming each other, we should look at finding a long term fix as the problem is not going to go away.

Just my 50 pence worth!
 
Or stop upgrading your PC every couple of months.

£1000 PC will run mostly everything you can throw at it. And will last a minimum 18 months.

Then another £500 or so to upgrade...

Keyboards and mice shouldn't be used for consoles. It's just not designed for it. It's like taking a gun to a knife fight.

your just trying to justify cheating.

either play on pc or use a pad, simples.

console gamers do not want a KB and Mouse setup only PC gamers want that.

the simple solution is stick to PC and leave consoles to pad users.

also the whole money argument is a load of crap also, the XIM costs over £200 does it not? and you can pick up second hand components off the members market for cheap upgrades.

in fact im willing to bet a £400 pc could easily play BF3 off the members market.
 
I think really it just shows they have to do a better job with sticks on next Xbox controller to combat this sort of thing and the triggers because they're rubbish too compared to mouse buttons.
 
Games are setup for the deadzones of the MS pad so they really have to lead the way. Two problems with the Razer for me are the relocation of Back & Start and no compatibility with the Chat Pad.
 
why do most of insist on insults? We are all gamers, we all love games. Sure some of us are older gamers that were around during the good old days of DOS gaming and Atari 2600's, but I don't have any less respect for younger gamers that missed these great times.

I get about 4 hours a week to play games if I am lucky nowadays. I used to play much more, but kids, work etc etc. So surely by the logic of this thread, all of you that have lots of time (because you dont have jobs and family ties I guess?) are getting an unfair advantage as you are able to practice far more than me with your beloved joypad?

So more practicing is cheating in my eyes nowadays.

And a £400 PC will not play BF3 well at all. It will play it, but slideshow fun is all you will get!

Still, I am going to buy one of these things, connect to a server online and blow all of your spotty heads off, cheating or not!

I play about the same amount of time a week as you, if not less, due to work/family and I manage to get on ok.

It's something you cannot cheat on, you have to just put the time in, it doesn't take that long at all.

You basically cannot be arsed to put the hours in to learn a new control method, that is it, no amount of fluffing up with excuses that's it. You want a shortcut to success.

It's funny you kind of totally contradicted yourself first to last there on the respect thing. If you're that old you should know as I do that gaming has always involved learning new control methods.
 
I have a fiancé, a full time job, also play and manage amateur football (saturday + Sunday leagues). I still manage around 15 hours I reckon a week gaming.

I'm neither unemployed, spotty, or a teenager and I have family ties. So your choices are to essentially cheat by using a 3rd party unlicensed prepherial, or to make more time and practice like 99% of other people out there.

Still, I am going to buy one of these things, connect to a server online and blow all of your spotty heads off, cheating or not!

Yet if I wanted to play a PC FPS with a Pad because I couldn't be arsed to learn to play and I had a device that I could plug in to give me an advantage over Keyboard & Mouse players so I would be able to compete online there would be a massive ****storm over it.

I'm not against the XIM in general and if people are more comfortable using it for single player/offline play they're more then welcome, but taking said device online when it gives them such an advantage over pad users is just pathetic and lazy.
