So I was just about to push the button on a new RX480 when I couldn't find one with DL-DVI. Only HDMI and DP.

Back when I originally got the monitor it was a HDMI version issue (not enough bandwidth) that required DL-DVI specifically.

The HDMI 2.0 spec seems to support the bandwidth and my monitor has a HDMI port...

Is the HDMI hardware in the monitor versioned (can't find a version mentioned in the manual or site product page?

Advice anyone?

it's HDMI 1.2 on that monitor so you would have to use the DL-DVI but that don't come on the rx480 you can buy display port to dl-dvi adaptor, if they are any good or not is a different story

this 480 has DVI-D dual link

Thanks for finding those. I can't see that they specifically are DL-DVI but maybe its implied.

No product pages from the manufacturer as yet - perhaps as they are not yet released.

I'll look out for first reviews then, not long to wait I reckon.
