XL2420G already opened

I just received a BENQ XL2420G monitor from amazon in the UK. I noticed that one side of the box has already been opened and then been resealed with some tape with BENQ printed all over it.

Is this normal? (did they need to replace the power cable or something?)

Maybe quality checks. Does the monitor work and look unused?
If the answer is yes then I wouldn't lose any sleep

It could be a refurb but if the panel is fine and it works well I'd keep it because you could end up with the whole battle of finding a decent panel.
