Hi all I've got a new xmas build coming my way and Im not worrying that my existing PSU won't take it!

If i upgrade to the following will I need a new PSU?

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) - will be overclocking it with a Zalman CNPS20LQ CPU Liquid Cooler :)
MSI Z77 MPower Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Avexir MPower Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
As my sig states my PSU and my 7950 is overclocked also.

I wondered about spending the extra on an i7 but figure as gaming and writing are what my pc is for there's no advantage???

What are ppl's opinions and any suggestions/improvements?

Thanks guys :D

PSU will be fine. could save some money and just get 8 gig of ram? you wont get close to 8 with just gaming never mind 16. then could pump into getting some faster ram (again faster ram not really nedded as gain isn't massive) but faster ram would benefit you more than more ram.

i7 not really needed for your requierments however if you just want to be able to say i has an I7 go for it :D

ModXStream Pro 600W, max 12V load 504W, 6+8 pin PCIE. Should do.

Id go with more ram than faster ram tbh. Faster ram don't do much.

neither does more ram if you dont use it? i run a couple vm's and play games and still struggle to hit 8gb

faster ram is better than ram you wont use. and the gain from 1600 to 2400 isnt massive i know. but its still something. and if budget allows it then why not.

if he ever does come to need more than 8gb in a year or two prices will have smashed down by then and an extra 8gb 2400mhz will be pennies.
