hello all
Here I go again on the wonderful Christmas day when tech fails to do as I expected.
Below are two links to my old ram and its replacement. The problem is when I turn on the pc it cycles 3 start ups and on the 3rd it brings up a screen saying it tried to boot up etc with various suggestions and a count down , if left it then boots up as normal and everything seems ok. I have checked and the new ram is recognised BUT what is the boot issues.

old ram

new ram

thanks for any help

Hi.

There’s a lot of information missing from this post and I can’t actually start to understand what’s wrong.

I don’t know your system specs and the RAM kit links aren’t working.

Have you tried higher voltages?
A BIOS update?
What’s the exact error that you get?

If you leave it to boot after the 3rd cycle, what speed is the RAM in windows?

Download CPU-z and look at the memory and motherboard information there to tell what information you need

Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit of a noob. I thought it would be as easy as a straight swap BUT as usual NOOOO.
I've managed to get it to boot first time now I went to bios and clicked things to auto and it seems to work, however running at 2133 instead of 3200 and I presume this is more about setting up an xmp profile which I'm still researching.

As a noob the link issue is strange, I've done links before but I cant now for some reason. Below are the ref numbers on scan uk

CMK8GX4M2B3000C15 old ram on scan

CMK32GX4M2E3200C16 new ram on scan

But again thanks for the help

What are your system specs tho?

I had other questions too like have you done a BIOS update.

I’d wager that the motherboard isn’t happy running 32gigs of RAM but I don’t know what motherboard you have or the CPU.

thanks for the reply. sorry so long getting back , period of illness. motherboard is an asrock z370 pro4 , cpu i3 8350k ( I think 8th gen intel ). I've never touched the bios but when looking around for solutions I came across an asrock app that had stuff to do with general updates to the motherboard, I've not checked them all out ( 4 various updates ) but the bios one mentions unless having issues no need to update. So far the issues have been sorted to the point that the pc boots fine now and recognises the 32gb of ram , but at a slower speed ( which is now the solution I'm looking or ). I think the only thing I did was boot to bio and change things to auto on the ram and away we go, I now need to look into how to up the speed on the z370m pro 4 motherboard.

again thanks for the help

You want to head into the BIOS and then the OC Tweaker page, then DRAM Configuration, finally Load XMP Setting. Then save and exit.
