The 290 tri-x is a great card and ive had no complaints the only real reason is the colour so im unsure if i should sell it and buy something better and in my colour scheme. the other option is to just buy another 290 tri-x and run them both, they are at a good price atm. so with that in mind do i get another 290 for £221 or do i sell my 290 for eg £150 meaning i have around £370 to spend on another gfx card but that leaves me needing to know if there is a gfx card for £370 that would be better than 2 x 290 tri-x cards .

My SSD atm is used for everything and im starting to run short on space so i have decided to just use the SSD i have for windows and buy and 512 SSD for games etc , what are peoples thoughts on this SSD is there a better option for that money ?

Memory , i know i don't need it as 8GB is more that enough for the gaming i do but im going to be us dxtory next year for some gaming stuff so the extra ram would be good .

i hope i have not gone on to much , i appreciate any help given
my pc is used for gaming Arma 2 & 3 + most mods, all high end games that are out .

There is no single card that will be faster than two 290s (technically a 295X2 is a single card but its £679+).

MX100/SKhynix do 512GB SSD that are still quick and cheaper.

with regards to the H105 what fans in the AF range should i go for ? (sticking with the black red theme)

You want the SP range (static pressure) to force air through the rad.

thanks for the reply stulid , i have never ran two gfx cards so this is going to be new for me. with the gaming 5 mobo how would i do this ive just been looking at the mobo layout do i have 1 card in PCIEX16 and the other in PCIEX8 or PCIEX4 is there any major setting up that needs to be done or is its just a case of installing the gfx drivers and away you go ?

Any other feedback is greatly appreciated

Basically stick the two cards in the first 2 long slots.

The top slot which is normally 16X will divert 8X of its lanes to the second slot, so both GFX cards get 8X a piece.

I would go with either of these over the 850 pro. As good as the 850 pro is, it isn't worth the extra £115.

Agreed! As far as I could tell when reading reviews, the 850 is only any faster with a lot of very small operations, but loading/writing large files won't show any difference.

The H105 will come with a pair of SP fans. AF fans are designed for AirFlow, where as the SP are for Static Pressure, which is better for fitting to the radiator. If they must match, these would be your best bet, but they're currently out of stock. :)

thanks for all the replies all great advice as usual .

like i have mentioned i have an evo 250 for windows and ive not had any problems but recently read that there has been some issues but samsung released a fix i have not done this fix on my current ssd as i dont have any issues yet maybe i should . what is the overall thoughts on the 2 ssds mentioned by lee32uk and the
Samsung 840 EVO 500GB regarding performance as i have seen the evo around for the same price , the issues with the 840,s are making me think about moving away from them but not sure .

I picked up an 840 EVO recently, very happy with it. The problems causing performance drops were recently fixed by a firmware update. :)
