Hullo,

I've just installed XMBC on a headless server and bought a Sapphire HD 6450 to run sound + graphics through HDMI. After many hours of pulling my hair out trying to get sound working, I installed the catalyst closed source drive which sorted it.

Annoyingly, now the screen discolours every now and again. Any pointers would be appreciated, haven't touched an xorg.conf in rage in years!

Is the box just for XBMC? If so just stick openelec on it, will save a shed load of hassles.

Nah it's got some other services on but wouldn't I have the same problem with it being the same chipset and driver combo?

It's not a huge deal as I'm waiting on the rasberry pi to be the front-end but it's slightly annoying to watch 1 out of every 20 in blue...

Like I said, I'm not great at graphics any more, would the open source driver do HDMI sound and graphics? I'm only using fglrx as the sound didn't work before I installed it

For the record, specifying radeonhd in xorg.conf rather than radeon fixed it. Probably should have read up a bit more before jumping to fglrx!

Hi kiwi, have you got the link for the driver to fix the sound? I'm having a bit of a bad time trying to get his working as well with a HD6450.
