Hello,

Got a new build and for whatever reason when I enable XMP my PC fails to post. I've done it in the past with my Z97-G5 board but I can't figure out what's wrong.

Build:
MSI - X299 Gaming Pro Carbon AC
Intel - i9-7900X
Memory - Corsair Vengeance Red LED 32GB DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 16GB sticks).

I have tried 1 DIMM in C1 slot and swapped DIMM's but still the same issue. According to an installation notice, I am to put memory in slots A1 and C1. There is also a light to indicate that my CPU supports 4 channels memory.

Whenever the system tries to boot it hangs on the post code D5 and hangs. I have to clear the CMOS in order to get the board back up and running. Any help appreciated.

Are you putting the mems in the conventional order for quad channel??

3200 is a pretty easy speed on x299 3866+ on most boards is not a problem

Why are you using a dual channel kit on a quad channel CPU... Entire point of x299 is high core count and quad channel memory...
