MSI Z170A-G43 Plus Intel Z170 Motherboard
Team Group Dark 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz TDKED416G3000HC16AD

Basically, stable i think at 4.5ghz 1.350v (Bad lottery i guess? or im doing something wrong).

Motherboard on auto voltage at stock clocks was pushing the CPU past 1.4v.

Turning on XMP introduces some instability, main noticable problem is booting up, everytime i turn on the PC or restart, exit bios etc (basically a power off). It causes my PC to attempt to power on upto 3 times, might be one of the auto settings deciding to change/doesn't work.

Dunno what to do from here with XMP lol
Haven't really played around with SA/IO voltage much, it was much lower on auto but turning it up hasn't really made any difference to anything from what i'm seeing.

Maybe I am totally miss reading what you have put but...

If you change a motherboard setting that changes bus speeds your machine will turn on, off ,on several times, depending on a few factors

That's totally normal as the BIOS sorts itself out and saves settings.

Or are you saying you do that but it still doesn't start "Overclock failed" or something similar?

Maybe I'm totally missing the point, its been a long day :)

Well it seems completely stable at least from testing with Prime95 in blend mode.

Just, hearing my PC rev from the fans up several times 60% of the time on reboot/power on is a bit annoying.

I'm not sure what its doing but based on the past it would seem like the BIOS is auto tuning something each time i boot up, or just failing to boot properly: While XMP is active.

No message or logs as to what its doing.

Not sure why, listed all my settings there.

Im a total noob myself but looking at your screen shots the voltages don't appear to be at what you have set them as.

you have 1.350v set for ram however its running at 1.360v. Surely it should be running at what you bloody tell it to not what it wants? Your ram is rated at 1.350v so could this be adding to your problems?

I imagine someone on here will know whats up.

CPU does the same, slight variations in voltages or sensors maybe not being accurate always? IO / SA voltages also.

Boot problem has like temporarily stopped at the moment, perhaps some auto configuration setting?
Tbh im finding my overclock at this voltage to be more of a problem when most get 4.6-4.7 at 1.35v lol.

Have you tried resetting the bios back to defaults and just starting again?

Might be worth having a look at the stock voltages and settings to see if there are any issues there.
