hi guys,

I have had my pc for well over a year now and feel that the time is now to start actually getting the most from my components.

I was going to do a small Oc on the cpu and activate XMP for the memory.

I have run into problems though : as soon as I activate XMP - save and reboot my pc it just won’t post.

You will need to do an overclock on the CPU including upping the CPU volts to support the faster memory speed I believe.

Your board only supports 3000mhz RAM in OC mode as per the manufacturer specs

Happy to be corrected by others if this isn't the case though

I’m not so familiar with overclocking etc to be honest. Anyone point me in the right direction ? Seems a waste to have HW capable of taking further and not doing it

have a go yourself, if your bios settings are at stock you can always reset them to stock, or save the current profile if your bios lets you, do a youtube search for your mb and find a guide, its not as complex as it used to be, just be careful with voltage and heat and how far you can go depending on your cooler,

I managed to get my coffee lake to 5ghz without much effort after not overclocking for years and feeling very unsure about it all.
