xms3 or vengance

Looking for RAM and have seen these both at some decent prices plus the timings look good, although i have heard about vengeance running at 1.5v which is what sandy CPU's like apparently? xms3 likes to run at 1.65v.. what's the benefit of getting the xms3, upping DRAM voltage to 1.65 for a slight better timings?

its going to go in a new rig with a 2500k sandy

One big factor is your cooler + MOBO combo and the number of memory modules you plan to use. 4 tall modules + BIG CPU coolers can be problematic on some MOBOs. If you plan to use 2 modules it's not an issue. For 4 modules, AND a big cooler, the XMS is the better choice.

The pros for xms3 as above are its very low profile and cheaper than the vengeance ram

Ocuk posted that the xms3 runs at 1.35 stable if i remember correctly not sure how low volts the vengeance will run at but you are right to want ram that will run lower than 1.65/1.6 as high volts can damage the sandy cpus

im gonnna be using my PC for gaming and also doin work, bit of website development and photoshop stuff... is 4gb gna be enough or you reckon go for 8gb just to be safe?

If you can afford it, go with 8GB. I went with 2x4GB Vengeance, I don’t really need it all that often, but on occasion when I work with VM's, it's good to have a buffer. Plus, if you go with 8GB now, it makes the rest of the physical setup a little easier as you won’t need to worry too much about having a cooler that hangs over the RAM slots.

I Purchases 8Gb (2x4Gb) Vengeance over XMS for the 1.5V and Of course the Look, But when i installed the memory in slot 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 i couldnt install an Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro (Fan blowing towards the rear exhaust fan/io ports - My mobo is in my Signature).

But it is Very Good memory. 7.8 On WEI if that matters
