Hi All,

Really odd one that I had years ago, solved it, but can't remember how.

My father in laws PC has a Xonar D1 soundcard, but soon as you plug something into the ports the whole PC hard locks. The PC detects it fine, drivers are up to date (latest UNI drivers) and nothing seems wrong. Plug in something though and crash.

Any ideas?

PC is an i5 760 at stock, 12gb RAM, ASUS P7P55D, GTX470. Windows 7 Home 64bit.

Right I solved it.

I ensured that the only device for audio was the D1. I went to volume control options and ensured that only the D1 was selected. I then went to Manage Audio Devices under Sound in CP and set the D1 to be the default audio device.
