Can't get my Xonar D2 to run on my Win XP (SP3) PC.
The card works on my other system with Vista 64, but when trying to install on XP I just get an error message Install Xonar card - then a BSOD if I try to run the "add new hardware" option from control panel.

have tried all drivers from the Asus website and have updated the MoBo BIOS to latest version.

Tech support from Asus no help either. All they did was advise fresh install of OS!!

Anyone got any good ideas?

Have now tried with a fresh install of XP - still doesn't work.

This is getting very frustrating - why spend £100 on a card for which Asus can't produce working drivers!!!???

They can. Plenty of people running them on XP systems. Sorry - I realise that's not particularly helpful for you though.

Possible faulty card? Can you try it in another PC?

Have only tried in games so far...I'll have to swap the card back over to try a movie for 5.1 sound.

Thanks for your interest though...more than I got from Asus tech support who couldn't do anything other than tell me to reinstall the OS!

In Vista, you will probably need to turn on the GX button to get 5.1 working. It's certainly the case for any games that use DirectSound3D.

tried back in the vista64 system. Card runs OK but no L/r side speaker sound in 5.1 on a DVD. Tried sound set up in control panel and speaker test also has no side sound.

Puzzled.....
