Howdy,

I rarely need to post things like this,a s I can usually find a way to fix it, but for the life of me I cannot get rid of the Xonar D2X Audio Centre system tray icon in Windows? I've very selective in what I have there, and that is one thing I don't want there... anyone know how to remove it from boot?

I know I can right click and close, but I don't want it to be in my startup, so I never see it again. I tried the startup folder in the Start mnenu, I've tried System Configuration in Administrative tools (the services and startup tabs) and its not there?

I don't mind if it is running in the background or not, I just want rid of that icon forever... any ideas?

Thanks

I'd like to know too, it's not in Startup through msconfig either.

For now I just have it set as "Always Hide", Right Clicking on the Toolbar and going to properties, then "Notification Area" tab.

Hmm, there must be a way, I mean it starts up with Windows, so why it isn't in the startup is a mystery to me. But that is besides the point really, ASUS should give the option to at least hide the thing from the sys try... its actually the first app I have used that don't give that option.

If I can;t find the option I will email ASUS, you never know, it may get added :)

Found it, it is in System COnfiguration > Startup... just labelled something completely different.

For those that want to disable it:

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > System Configuration > Startup Tab then uncheck the "CmiCnfg Dynamic Link Library" box and restart.

Note that this STOPS Audio Center from starting completely, it doesn't just rmeove the icon, this is what I wanted as I will never use it. Windows boots up much quicker after entering my admin password too... that was lagging it.

i'm having the complete opposite problem, i can't get the bleeding thing to run!
no matter what i do, the Asusaudiocenter program won't open.
