Xonar D2X strange sound!

Hi all

I was wondering is it normal for the "card" to make a switching sound (click) while booting up? I mean the physical card not sound through the speakers.

It doesnt start until I install the drivers, its as if its switching on? Odd my old Xifi never made any sounds like this.

Though the card works fine, and I must say I much prefer it to my old Xifi now.

I believe that's the EMI shield powering on. Don't worry about it though, it's normal. Mine does it too.

the emi shield is a piece of metal that doesnt do anything lol.

That clicking is from the relays switching on and off. if you thing thats bad you shoudl hear my amplifier. lol. its perfectly normal btw. try switching the recording source to ALT in the sound card drivers, you'll here relays switching over then as well.

Ah thanks I can put my mind at rest now then. I never heard a card do that before thought I might have got a duff one
