Hi guys,

I've been using my Xonar DG 5.1 PCI for over a year now with no problems, but its randomly started having a funny moment.

While playing DOTA 2 last night I got a BSOD, and upon a restart my sound wasn't working. I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and that seemed to fix the problem, but then it BSOD'd again shortly after (wasn't playing a game).

Any ideas why this has randomly started happening? I'm at work at moment but this evening I intend to switch PCI slot and see if that helps. I have my onboard sound disabled.

Thanks in advance!

I thought it was, especially for the price.

As for your BSODs OP, if swapping PCI slot doesn't fix it, try removing it and re-enabling onboard just to make sure it's your sound card causing the problem (does bluescreenview have anything helpful to say about the process that caused the crash?)

Well worth the money over onboard.

Trust me you won't regret it.

OP, if it happens again try to catch some of the error message if possible, also try installing the unified drivers.

They might help.

cmudaxp.sys is the problem, which after some googling appears to be a widely known problem with Xonar. Still got a few things to try will keep you updated.
