Bought the DG version of the card to go with some new headphones and can't get it working.

Drivers for the Asus site prompt me to plug the card in
Unified drivers install but the Xonar Audio Center won't open

It shows up in device manager and i've tried different PCI slots but nothing i do gets any sound out of it. What am i missing?

Try disabling the onboard audio, if you haven't already. Windows should be able to manage with multiple sound cards, but I have seen some people say they had to disable onboard audio for the sound card to work.

Already done that mate, first thing i did when the card arrived was uninstall the onboard drivers then disable in BIOS. Checked the usual like making sure the speakers aren't set to 0% too.

The Xonar CP should open though, if the drivers are installed. My DG recently broke, but the CP would still open; so it's a possibility that there is a conflict somewhere. Short of trying it with a clean install or in a different system, I'm not sure what else you can do.

Not yet, it's recognized as the xonar dg now instead of a generic c-media device but now the drivers are hanging at 100% and even the unified are telling to plug it in now lol

Edit - got sound through it now, must have forgotten to disable the onboard audio, had it back on when i got frustrated earlier. Just need to see if these drivers install properly now, they take forever :)

Edit, again - finally! Couldn't get the drivers to install without going into safe mode. It's all working now including the xonar audio center, what a hassle that was :)
