Xonar DX mic problem

I have a lovely Xonar DX that I got from OCUK the other week so I decided to get a mic with a 3.5mm jack to plug into it as I was previously using a usb mic.

Here is my problem in thins picture, I have nothing in the mixer under "record". Everything seems set up to use the Xonar mic but.

The mic isn't working either, not surprisingly.

you made sure you got the right port as the DX uses a multi jack if its connected by the cards jacks( line out which is on the very left or towards the mb if you will)...or do you use front panal?

i have the same sound card and everything is perfect...but I use front panal.
