I was just about to purchase a Xonar DX, but I then realised that a friend is selling his D2. Now, I know the DX is PCIe and the D2 is PCI, and the D2 uses higher quality components for slightly better sound, but what other differences are there? Do they have the same EAX 5.0 emulation? And with the D2 being the older card, are there any inherent problems with it? Ive only got a AE Aego M 2.1 speaker setup.

Cheers in advance.

with those speakers you won't be able to tell the difference, even those with 5k speakers would probably be hard pressed to differentiate between the Xonar range.

they all do the same thing, although the DX can't do DTS encoding like the D2X (unsure about the D2) which isn't anything to worry about it just means you will only see DD 5.1 instead of a choice of DD/DTS on your amp....they will sound identical.
