Xonar DX - Weird buzzing noise when playing games

Hi all,

I've just bought a Xonar DX and am having a problem when using any type of VoIP and games. I regularly play Black Ops and use TeamSpeak to talk to my mates. I used to use a Creative X-Fi Gamer in my Antec 902 case using the front header for mic+headphones. Never had a problem. Since upgrading to my Xonar DX, people are complaining about a weird humming sound in the background when I talk.

I initially thought this was to do with a bad connection between the front header and the HD Audio connector on the card. So I plugged in to the rear of the card to see if it changed. When I was out of a game, everything was fine. As soon as I started a game up, I could hear lots of electical noise. It didnt matter whether I was using the front or rear sockets.

I'm not sure what else I can try to get rid of the noise. Its just a PCI-E card with a small molex power supply cable that I've attached to a fan power cable from the PSU (it needs it apparently). Is this a defect in the card or is there something wrong with my Asrock Gen3? Thoughts appreciated.

I've been doing some more testing and am 100% convinced this is either a driver or design issue. Even with my mic switched off, if you switch the Windows Mic properties to 'monitor', you can hear a constant background noise that sounds almost like distant rainfall. If you move a window around the screen or start a program, you get a really loud electrical noise generated. It appears to me that this card has terrible shielding so unfortunately I'll be returning it. Shame really as the sound quality when listening to music was great.

*EDIT* and yes, I have tried Brainbits unified drivers. Still no good and I don't see why I should accept a third parties efforts to try and fix a problem that obviously exists within the card that the manufacturers should fix.

its connected to a 4 pin molex power cable from the PSU that would normally go to power a floppy or old CD rom drive. The board comes with a molex to small 4-port socket for attaching to the board, so I know its pulling the right current from the right PSU port.

Tried all the slots, even making sure the gfx is as far away as possible from the sound card. I shouldnt need to do this with a properly insulated card. I've restarted the PC numerous times and still I hear buzzing in the background when I'm transmitting and playing a game. So annoying that people are muting me in TeamSpeak !!!!

I really want to find a solution to this because the sound when listening to music and games is fantastic, but not at the expense of everyone muting me in-game!
