Hi guys recently installed this and tired a few different drivers, better sound than my on-board and bf3 so happy with it however,

It appears it cuts the end off shorter sounds for example: the noise windows makes when you open a folder in explorer and other notification sounds. it plays about half the clip - sometimes all of it, really annoying any ideas?

What speakers/amp/headphones etc. are you using?

Using a reasonably cheap creative fatal1ty headset, no amp

Normal jack or USB?

First thing I would check is that the onboard is disabled in the BIOS.

Are only short sounds clipped? I.e. longer periods of music etc. are ok?

Sounds like an odd one mate, not sure I'm going to be able to help..

i get this on my d2x when i've got it connected to my amp via coaxial; i found the reason for it was it didn't keep the DTS stream constantly on, but only when it played the sound so it switched the DTS processing on my amp only when a sound was played meaning there was a delay in the amp processing the signal.

not a clue in your situation if you're running it through the soundcard and out via analogue though...

On-board is disabled and its through the jack, music etc seems to be fine. Also i think it might be causing the machine to occasionally lock and ive had a bsod since installing it which ive never had before unless oc'ing etc.

i can still return it - worth considering a creative card instead?

Yesterday I bought that card and today I had to changed because was doing exactly what you say and besides it was losing the sound... I'll explain it...

Both spekers working so sometimes one of them stops working for 8 seconds and after was working normal, that and a lot of CLICKS CLICKS...

Check it properly mate, try to change the channels from 2 to 8 and touch as much as you can like this you'll see if it's broken or what...

on the D2X it needs external power, may be the same case. maybe not connected properly?
