Xonar Essence STX problem with mic

I've had this problem for awhile now and I need it sorting, I use the sennheiser game one headset with this sound card its amazing but my problem is the mic I use the stereo adapter jack to connect the headset to the sound card it only came with one so bought another for the mic.

The problem is when I speak on a voip as soon as I speak through the mic I get this screeching noise that gets louder and louder then it will fade completely away until I speak again and it repeats the same thing, I changed the jacks over but the mic still does the same thing, anybody know what the problem is?

Settings I use in Xonar Audio Center

Audio Channel - 2 channels
Sample Rate - PCM 48KHz
Analog Out - Headphones
Dolby Headphones ticked - Reference Room - DH-1

so turn the microphone gain down in the settings until it stops

try going into the xonar software and advanced on mixer? on the microphone side and disable front panel audio, see if this makes a difference.

Improved a lot thanks, also turned the sound down which helped, thanks for the tip

No worries

i had a similar problem with my modmic using a xonar dsx
