Ive just got an Asus Xonar and its superb in games/music.
I want to be able to record a mix from my turntables to the line in like i have done many times before with my old creative live and since then onboard soundcards.
So i hook up the line in and I can hear it through my pc speakers, nice and loud, so far so good.
I am then using Total recorder to try and record, if i choose line-in as the source and run a test recording its very quiet , ( 5% of decibel bar) and it says it has failed and i should try another source. This doesnt make sense as the sound through my speakers is as loud as any mp3 i could play. The line level in is on full in the Xonar recording menu.
Anyway, ive then tried Stereo-mix as the source, it records nice and loud on the decibel meter but and as soon as the test recording starts the sound dissapears from my speakers
My decks are in a different room in the house and really could do with hearing them through my computer, as well as being able to change the record level.
Ive googled this and i cant find anyone else with the problem, very odd.
I dual boot with Vista 32bit and XP 32bit and its the same in both.
