Would like decent surround for watching movies, which A/V amp do I need for that? Do I connect this with digital coax?

That will be ok for listening to music, but I also have SR80s which are better for that, so would like to connect this straight into analogue out of sound card or maybe get a headphone amp!

I already have an X-Fi Music card, would a Xonar be even better for listening to music?

You won't get surround from a set of SR-80's. If you want surround sound you'll need to buy a 5.1 speaker system.

If you're buying a 5.1 speaker system you use digital out, so the quality of the soundcard isn't important.

thank you, yeah I know that SR80s won't give me surround ;)

Interesting about digi out quality, never thought about like that.

I live in a flat so i'm still wondering if getting surround speakers + sub is a good idea, poor neighbours etc

I could get something like http://whathifi.com/BestBuys/Hi-Fi-BestBuys/Budget/ - just the amp and speakers (listen so them first of course).
