Xondr D2x Sound Issue

Hi all,

I changed from the xi-fi xtrememusic to a PCI-e Xonar D2X, the sound while gaming is great but when i play music i get like a strange echo.

Its especially prominant when you end a song.

Anyone know what may be causing this or how to rectify it.

Could try muting the 'Wave' device in the recording tab of windows sound control panel. Other than that, don't know... just made the same change as you myself, and have not had any issues personally (apart from cleaning up all the Creative software remnants that were scattered in numerous locations).

Edit: should point out that I went for the regular PCI variant, as I really couldn't be bothered rewiring the inside of my case in order to gain access to the use of a floppy power connector.

Try playing with its dsp settings in its control panel, I have them all off and just a few equalizer tweaks, With any of the dsp's on the sound was weird and horrible :/
