I have a copy of Windows XP SP1 that I no longer need so I want to sell it. I haven't used the product key in about 18 months and that particular licence is not installed on any of my machines. The last couple of times I used it I had to manually activate over the phone with MS due to hardware profile changes. What I'd like to know is will another user be prompted to activate via the phone or does each activation have a limited life span?
