Xp - Activation

Hi all,

I've just formatted and have gone to activate windows and the (Legal) key that i have has been exceeded. So i take it i have to buy a whole new copy of XP?

nope it says:

According to our reccords, the number of times you can activate windows with this product key has been exceeded. Please enter a diffrent product key.

So new xp then by the sounds of it, dont really want to pay £60 for something i already own ( a CD) :/ shame i cant get just a new key.

i think as i've formatted so many times, and changed my mobo last year it gave up the ghost

Just curious if i can ask in members market for a key? or is that against the rules?

Okay , but if i say that my motherbord blew up, wont they have previous records of my hardware? and see with the new key that i still have the same hardware?
