XP Admin (root) accounts

Hi

Recently installing windows from afresh, i'd like to have only the default "Administrator" user account which i'll use to install software, updates etc, and otherwise use a limited account for everything else. I don't see the point in having a secondary admin account - a prerequisite to creating limited accounts - so wondered if there's a way around this.

So what exactly is the problem then?

Login as admin, change your user account to limited. Job done.

If it won't let you do that (can't see why not), delete it and recreate a new limited user account.
 
But as i already said, a secondary admin account is prerequisite to creating limited accounts. This prevents me from either:

- creating new limited user accounts
- changing admin accounts to limited accounts
- deleting admin accounts

where no (other) secondary admin account exists.
 
Doesn't seem to on mine.

Are you using control usepasswords2?

EDIT: Actually, just tried again... got some sort of error. Maybe not...(!)
