Hi all,

I've been asked to repair an old p3 Dell laptop as IE wasn't working and was infested with AOL crap.

Sorted all that but I seem to be having an issue with the mouse cursor.

For no reason I can spot it can just move off on to one of the corners and when I try and move it away it goes straight back.

Most of the time it's fine, its just occasionally. Any suggestions?

I contacted the owner who stated it had been doing it for ages and that Dell had told them it was a common problem on a laptop that old and the reason it happens when you launch programs is that the vibration from the harddrive can cause it.

I ran malwarebytes over it and found nothing obvious and returned it. Some people say its a driver issues according to google, but the owner isn't fussed.

I have exactly the same cursor issue on a Dell Latitude that is just under 2 years old. I assume it is not a malware issue as the laptop is a Corporate machine with all sorts of security and detection stuff on it.

I think that it is a driver issue and it can be resolved but its so minor to me I have not bothered sorting it out.
