XP Disk cleanup

Do you use disk clean up to compress old files?
What does it do? When does it put the files?
If it compress files that i havnt used in a while will it take longer to access them?

I don't use the Compress Files option. Haven't for years. It would take ages to compress the files. I think there would be a slight lag in using/loading them.

If you want to clean your disk up then use CCleaner.

i'd use ccleaner slim to cleanup the drive

and manually compress certain folders, (like i386 folder if you have one), windows driver folders, or office setup folders etc

anything that isn't used daily imo..
