So if I set my desktop BG to anything other than black (eg any image at all) I get the below issue where closing a window leaves a ghost of it hanging on screen. Always the same place that gets stuck and happens with any window that previously covered it. Latest drivers and cats

This is on an old C2D 2GB xp desktop, but with a 6450 installed (this is my HTPC).

It's bugging me a bit, so any advice on how to fix it would be appreciated!

It would appear some form of tick box isn't checked for 2d processing, or smoother windows, or a GFX driver issue. When you say you have the latest drivers, are they from the website or WHQL ones?

Website. I figured the same, but I don't really know what I'm looking for. I tried forcing higher 2d clocks in afterburner, but it doesn't support the card very well, and frankly it uses too much system resources on this POS.

E: I'm on 12.4 cats

AS its a HTPC, there isn't some form of onboard gfx that are actually still running and need to be disabled?

Well, in the BIOS I've set it to use the PCIe gfx, but how would I check to see if it is still using the onboard in windows?

E: device manager only shows the pcie gfx, so should be okay
