Would installing from a generic OEM disk cause problems when activating, if the activation sticker is branded?

As the laptop in question only included a recovery disk that also installs plenty of junk. I want to make my own slipstreamed disk for when a new HD is fitted.

Just hestitant because the COA has Gateway printed on it, but the XP media is just a generic OEM version.

No probs at all doing this. It may mean it does not install over the net and you would have to phone MS to activate via the automated phone system.

To confirm, using a regular OEM disk worked.

So now got a custom XP disk with integrated S-ATA drivers, SP3, IE7, and RyanVM's post SP3 updates applied
