XP has recently started to "hang" for a few minutes after completing the start up.
When startup is complete I usually go to Outlook Express which is set to automatically check my emails. OE starts up Ok but now does nothing for a minute or two even if I click on send/receive. It eventually goes ahead and checks my emails, but I get a mesage saying that my Firewall is turned off and I might be at risk. The XP firewall is on.
If I try and start IE it will not even start for the first minute or two.
This only happens when I first boot up, if I go back to OE or IE and re-open them all is well. Something is obviously hogging the internet connection and system resources after boot up.
Any advice would be appreciated.
