Just did a fresh install of windows xp, Downloaded and installed 1 set of updates from windows update. Next update is sp2 and it won't download. It just remains at 0%.

The internet connection is working fine as well?

Could the windows update server be busy or something?

Best thing to do, is grab the SP2, and Intergrate that into a new CD and re-install the new CD... XP and then SP2 wastes a fair bit of space when compared to SP2 intergrated.

I have the official CD so I wil happily burn you a copy if oyu want?

do as Daegan says

first thing you should install (before connecting to the net) is sp2

slipstream it if you can be bothered (so it's IN the disc)

What i meant is you can't use windows update to get SP2, you need to dl the 266MB file and install from that, then get the 90+ updates from windows update.

Not true at all, you certainly can download SP2 through Windows Update. Obviously if it doesn't work then what you say is an alternative that might be worth trying.

Download progress doesn't often show anything happening, but if you leave it for a while you'll suddenly see the sp2 set-up screen. Thats what happened to me.
