XP home to Pro

Hi Guys can you please tell me if I can upgrade from XP home version to Pro version without having to do a fresh clean install? If possible do I need full retail version XP pro or upgrade version?

Can I just ask why you are upgrading? Do you need the network domain capability? If not then it may be a waste of time changing over.

yes i need network capability. i've got another pc running xp pro and this one with xp home but need to install software which has to share between both pcs

there are many more features available in the pro version than just access to a domain

at the moment need to network 2 pcs together and looking for way to do it. I have XP home service pack 3 but on cd have xp pro service pack 2 (so of course can't overwrite with a lower service pack). How can i get xp pro sp 3 onto a cd without having to buy again?

You are aware Home can do networking? Just not Domain networking? Do you need Domain networking?

1) can you network xp home and xp pro machines?
2) the software i need installed apparently will only work with xp pro in a network (so the software engineers tell me)
