Just upgraded mate from work's computer from an old Duron 1200 to a P4 3.0/dfi combo.
Reset the bios (was second hand board + Processor) loaded default settings etc, then tried to install windows.
It gets past all the driver checks etc, and just before you get to the menu when you can start selecting install paths etc i get this screen
dsc00101zr5.jpg

I've tried just about everything i can think of, and it still hangs with the same error.
Using a single Ballistix Tracer 512MB DDR2 ram module with 3-3-3-8 timings and i've loosened them to 5-5-5-15 and given it anything from 1.8V to 2.1V the cpu is at default as is everything else.
Only thing i havn't tried yet is moving the ram to another slot, would moving it to the orange slot rather than the yellow one make any difference?
Any help would be appreciated.

I've seen a similar problem once before. Are you running a PCI express graphics card by any chance? If so, then you need XP with SP2 slipstreamed to install.

It's ok i figured it out.. these DFI boards won't install XP with a PCI-E card in unless it's SP2 XP your installing.
