Xp install issues, little help needed

Hi, ive just built an i3 rig and i cant for the life of me get an OS on it.

Quick specs

i3 530
Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H
4GB OCZ Gold DDR3
Samsung F4
Corsair CX 400W PSU

Now i started to install XP and got as for as loading device drivers and id get the irql_not_less_or_equal BSOD, i swapped the RAM out for 1 stick of mine and still got the same issue.
After a bit of research i got an XP disc with SP2 on it as i read the XP only discs were a common problem with driver errors.

Now i don't even get that far, it loads the files and before it gets to the windows screen it BSOD's with a hard drive/hardware error.

Ive tried all sorts in BIOS, from setting RAM timings and voltage, ACHI, etc etc and i keep hitting the same point. Ive tried an IDE drive, ive tried Vista and Windows 7, Vista and 7 just freeze before any windows screen and XP BSOD's.

Im properly out of ideas now, do i have faulty hardware? I will call OCUK and see what they say but id like to know if there's anything ive overlooked.
This isn't the first system ive built, im running a watercooled i5 system but that doesn't mean ive missed something totally obvious!

Its all new hardware and not overclocked, i left the mobo battery out overnight and tried again with the same results.
 
Thanks for all the replies, ive tried the DVD drive out of my PC and still get the same, ive also tried an IDE HDD so that rules out Sata issues and HDD, ive formatted the new drive on my PC but I haven't ran disc check, possibly worth a try i suppose.

On the RAM front ive used 1 stick of my RAM at 1.65V and 9 9 9 18 ill run memtest on mine but im not sure this is the issue here.

Gonna give OCUK a call now
 
Called OCUK today and they suggested I flash the BIOS, now maybe its me but it just won't do it, doesn't find any files and dosen't seem to see the memory stick.

So i think another call tomorrow is in order and hopefully i can RMA some of the hardware, ive spent too long trying to sort this now and im certain hardware is at fault.
 
Right, this is where i am, ive RMA'd the mobo and its came back as working fine, OCUK have installed an OS and its posted 10 times. (I posted this midday monday and DPD attempted delivery on wednesday, thats a slick turn around!)

I set everything up and the first thing i need to do is swap the RAM for a stick from my PC as it gets to the BIOS screen then restarts. I do this and try to install XP and im still getting the same problem.

I unplugged all the hard drives on my PC and used the new HDD then tried to install XP, so its my working PC with the new hard drive, i get the same problem.

I then put one of my SSD's onto the new system, try and install XP and get the same problem again, i try W7 and still get the same problem.

To be honest, ive had enough now, ive spent the best part of 4 evenings trying to install an OS!
Ill call OCUK again tomorrow and see if i can RMA the lot, although ill have to find a cheaper number to contact them on as its cost me a fortune waiting on hold already.

Its got me thinking, can all this be caused by static? The mobo is the only item in an anti static bag and so far thats the only thing thats been proven to work.
 
Its the PC3 10666 Gold, says 9 9 9 @ 1.65v on the stick.

Ive called OCUK today and got an RMA number for the CPU, mobo, HDD and RAM. The mobo has been back and been tested but ill send it back anyway.

Im done with swapping hardware and i think more than one component is faulty. This simple build is entering its 3rd week now!
 
Well ive got some progress.

OCUK tested my hardware and all was fine, no fault was found.

However, it now installs Vista! It still BSOD's with XP though so im going to try and create an XP disc with SP3 on it.

Just something that might be an issue, with this mobo you need to install the drivers on the mobo disc before you can access the internet, its also got the SATA drivers on there too, could this be what is missing from XP?
Ive tried to install the drivers from the disc when prompted to install SATA driver but it doesn't read the disc.
 
Doesn't work.

Ive made an XP disc with SP3 slipstreamed into it and i still get the BSOD in the same place.

Ideas anyone?

The mobo has on-board graphics which will be used (only for my grandad after all)

OCUK tested it with windows 7 and ive got Vista installed on it now, its just XP im having issues with. Ive tried to load SATA drivers etc from the mobo disc when it prompts to install them, however it wont install them from a disc! But XP with SP2 or SP3 has got SATA drivers included.

Im going to try and put the mobo drivers on a USB stick and see if i can install them from that.

Its been back to OCUK twice now, ill be annoyed if they haven't tested it properly.

nkata; tried the download with a USB stick and it wasn't having any of it, i haven't got a floppy drive or even a disc.

Starting to lose my patience with this now, its nearly a month since i placed my order, it should've been finished weeks ago.
 
I cant see why they'd test it with XP unless a specifically asked them to, however the guy in technical knew my issue and after being back twice with no fault found you'd think they'd maybe look a bit further into it.

Looks like another call to OCUK tomorrow, im going to try for a new mobo sent straight out while i pull the pc apart again. I can't keep waiting for returns etc. Its over £300 ive been short of for a month.
 
Well Vista is a no go to start with, just using it for a few days and i remember why i changed to W7!

The comp is for my grandad and as its taken him years to get used to XP i don't really want to swap him to W7, I know it'd be the better option and i may still end up doing it but he's old and easily confused!
