Hi guys, got a dell inspiron 910 (mini 9) here with a 8Gb SSD flash drive, the OS was corrupt so ive been asked to do an install, installed xp 1000 times on other machines but this has me beat, followed loads of guides on the net, tried via external CDRW, even made a XP usb flash drive and i kepp getting the same error, at the screen where you choose the hard drive to install, it correctly identifies the 8Gb drive but it says "setup cannot access this disk" , ive googled it and no one else seems to get this error, does this drive need drivers via F6 during setup?

Any help would be appreciated.

I would check the BIOS for any options related to AHCI mode, as XP doesn't like this and needs a driver via F6.
The general solution was to use nlite to slipstream the driver.

However, the fact it is detecting the drive, but won't allow you to install to it suggests that this is not the issue, and your drive is busted.
Have you tried the drive in something else?

Thanks for the replies guys, no i havent tried it in anything else as i have no other machine that takes an SSD flash drive, i'll check the BIOS settings and report back.

Thanks again

*edit* , no AHCI in the bios, tried loading optimised & default settings, still the same, busted drive it is then :(

Thanks guys
