Hi guys.
I'm just obtained a pc for my sister (2.4 Pentium northwood chip, no up on the old Pentium's) and the system was running windows 98. Now she wanted to install XP so, using a new copy i went to install it as per usual but during the inital stages of booting from the cd it gave an error saying, "Setup cannot load the keyboard layout file Kbdus.dll. Setup cannot continue."
Now i have google'd the problem and there isnt much but there is THIS and THIS but i cant make sense of what how i give permission to it what i'm ment to do.
any help will be much appreciated as i have litterally a couple of hours to get this all up and running before i set off to uni again some 200 miles away and she cant do it herself.....
edit - forgot to mention that i put the drive in my pc, wiped it and installed xp on my system (ntfs partition ) put it back into the Pentium system and it refuses to even recognise the drive (maxtor diamond max 9 80gb) and still wont load the boot disk
