I have one main PC in my study but also have a low spec 2nd pc connected to the net for the kids to use on Messenger etc. I may in the future get a third pc. Is there a version of XP I can buy that I could run on both PCs or do I need to buy two or possibly three sets of the OS. All of the PCs are for personal use only.

Seems like Bill Gates has got it pretty well covered then!

LINUX is an option I`d thought of but how limiting is the software? Will Explorer and Messenger work ok?

The student version idea also sounds promising. My kids tell me it is essential to go on the pc to do their homework and they are the primary users!!! Is this the same product I have seen on the shelf at retailers but cheaper (I think) than the non academic copies?
