XP Home has become very slow when switching user and then logging to another today. It sits on the blue logging out screen for ages and is really laggy and jerky when you reach the select user screen. It runs as fast as normal when actually logged in however.
I thought I might have messed something up when fiddling with the network and firewall yesterday so I attempted to do a system restore back to Thursday and got a message saying it was unable to complete the restore. No reason was given and I got the same error when I tried it with a different restore point. I've also tried virus scannning and cleanign up the registry.
Any suggestions as to what's causing all this would be appreciated.
