XP Logon screen

I want to change the default background image on my system. I currently have my system as 'ctrl + alt + del' to log in and it has the default blueish background, and I'm wondering how I can change it to whatever I like.
I doubt there is a program like LogonUI that I need, but just some settings, as it's just that silly default colour.

Any ideas?

It's quite easy

if you click on then start button, then run, type "regedit"

then browse to

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop

then it's something like windows wallpaper towards the bottom on the right hand side

Ok, I found all that, do you know what I need to change to allow it to have an image of my choice in there? Or even what the colour codes it uses are?

Surely you just the value for Wallpaper to where the wallpaper you want is? Just type the full path in, "C:\Desktop\Wallpaper.jpg"?

it only works with .bmp files. you'll have to save your image as that first.

I did think that's what I'd have to do with the registry, but wasn't 100%. Also cheers for pointing out it has to be a bitmap.
